Notes: Biblical epigraph on title page: 'Numb. 23.10. Let mee Die the Death of the Righteous, and let my last end be like his.' Account of Cromwell's death; includes text of a prayer he purportedly delivered on his deathbed. Another version of the same text, published with a different title, also appeared in 1659 (see Wing W370). That version is attributed to 'one that was then Groom of his Bed-Chamber', sometimes thought to be the journalist and preacher Henry Walker (see ODNB for tentative attribution).
