Notes: Thomason copy dated March 27. Biblical epigraphs on title page from Genesis 3:10, Exodus 21:14, Psalm 94:21-23, and Proverbs 28:17. Prynne's name does not appear on the title page; for the attribution see the ODNB entry for John Hewitt. Prynne had actually counselled Hewitt during his trial for royalist plotting in 1658. Hewitt was executed that July. This pamphlet is Prynne's defence of Hewitt against the charge laid against him.
