A shipment of a marble chapel from Naples to Dubrovnik and a planned return cargo of worked iron and barley from Barletta and Naples, barley from Trani to Naples, and more barley from Brindisi to Naples. The vessel departed from Naples in September and delivered the chapel successfully in Dubrovnik in late September/early October. The vessel then sailed to Manfredonia to complete its quarantine and reached Barletta on 11 November and delivered letters to Oranzo di Nicastro, the consignee of the iron and barley, but the crew told awaited further orders from Naples. The vessel then continued to Trani, where the consignee likewise reported lacking orders to release his portion of the cargo, and the ship was unable to proceed further. While anchored within the port of Trani and still awaiting instructions, the vessel was struck by a violent storm on the night of 3 December, with strong north-east winds shifting to north winds. The ship was moored closer to shore and the shallow waters under its hull caused it to strike bottom repeatedly as the sea surged and by midnight, the vessel had begun to break apart under the force of the waves. The winds and stormy seas intensified throughout the night and into the morning, and the vessel, unable to be moved or reinforced, flooded entirely and capsized. The storm continued over the next three days ultimately destroying the vessel. Salvage crews assisted by locals recovered portions of the rigging, sails, weaponry, and other equipment. The barley meant to be loaded in Trani was never embarked, and the vessel never reached Brindisi.
