A shipment of grain loaded in Cagliari and likely intended for Genoa. The ship departed Cagliari on 20 October 1718 but soon encountered adverse conditions near Capo di Pula. To avoid grounding, the crew was forced to strain the sails, during which the foremast broke. Proceeding northward, the vessel passed Isola Tavolara after four or five days, but encountered persistent contrary winds that pushed it toward the Island of Ogliastra, and then forced anchorage at a coastal cove called Cala Ginetta. The vessel then drifted toward Monte Santo, where the ship endured violent south-west winds and stormy seas, causing damage the mizzenmast. The vessel continued northward and while at sea it began taking on water in the bilge, caused both by damaged hull seams and waves breaking over the deck. After several days at sea the ship reached the Corsican coast near Aléria, but was unable to find shelter due to a sequence of strong south and east winds with accompanying stormy seas. The captain ordered full sails to avoid being driven onto the beach, which resulted in the tearing of the mainsail and damage to the crow's nest, along with additional rigging damage. The ship managed to eventually reach Portofino after an extended time, and the captain made a formal testimony for damages on 2 September 1719.
