A shipment of timber and planks from Marinella to Genoa. The vessel departed Marinella on 24 March 1722 and soon faced a sudden onset of contrary winds and rough seas that made navigation impossible. To prevent capsizing and to lighten the vessel, the crew jettisoned all planks stowed in the upper hold and four large timbers and the crew returned to Marinella to seek refuge from the storm. The storms continued into the following day and the crew jettisoned the remainder of the timber and planks still onboard to avoid further danger. In an effort to save the vessel from capsizing, the patron enlisted eight men from nearby Montemarcello and a capstan to haul the vessel ashore, but the capstan and its hawser broke during the attempt. Later that evening, three men were dispatched to Castelnovo to retrieve another capstan, which arrived around 01:00 on the 26 March, but continued heavy rains during the night made any further operations impossible. When the crew returned at dawn, they found the vessel had been pushed broadside onto the beach by violent winds, and leaking and broken beyond repair. The anchors and hawsers had been lost to the sea, and only some of the equipment could be salvaged from the wreck. The patron made a formal testimony of damages before the civic notary in Ameglia on the same day.
