A shipment of wheat from Corigliano Calabro to Genoa on behalf of the Duke of Corigliano. After eight days of smooth sailing, the ship arrived at Pozzuoli on 24 November under fair weather conditions. On 30 November, encouraged by continued calm seas, the crew departed Pozzuoli to proceed toward their final destination in Genoa. However, as they neared the island of Ponza, the vessel was overtaken by strong west/south-west wind which raised a severe storm and drove the ship back toward the Calabrian coast. Faced with mounting waves and the threat of foundering, the crew took emergency action to lighten the vessel and jettisoned a significant quantity of cargo and equipment. The storm persisted through the early days of December until, on the night of 3 December, the sea calmed and the winds ceased. The vessel then proceeded to Anzio where the patron and witnesses gave formal testimony for damages.
