Order of Nawazish Khan to Purshottam Das and Paras Ram about the remission of revenues due

In response to an earlier petition (ʿarzdasht) about certain tax revenues remaining to be deposited, Nawazish Khan orders that the landlord (chaudhri) Purshottam Das and record-keeper (qanungo) Paras Ram of the district (pargana) Dhar remit the remaining revenues and follow the instructions of the deputy of Kifayat Khan should any issues arise.

1زبده الاقران پرسوتم چودهری و پرسرام قانونگوی پرگنه دهار بعنایت
2امیدوار بوده بدانند عرضه داشتی که درینولا مشتملبر حقیقت
3باقی سنه ۱۰۶۵ و از رسیدن کس وزارت پناه کفایتخان
4ارسالداشته بودند بنظر در آمد باید که آنچه باقی حسابی باشد
5واصل سازند و در هر باب که سخن داشته باشند به
6وزارت پناه مذکور بنویسند و موافق جواب عملنمایند
7درین باب تاکید دانسته بموجبی که نوشته شد
8بعمل آورند و از فرموده تخلف و انحراف نورزند
9تحریر فی التاریخ ۷ شهر شعبان سنه ۱۰۶۹ هجری فقط


1Eminent among Contemporaries Purshottam [Das] chaudhri and Paras Ram qanungo of pargana Dhar,
2having hoped for kindness, know that at this time, the ʿarzdasht containing the facts
3of the arrears of the year 10651 and the arrival of a [deputed] person of the Refuge of Ministry Kifayat Khan
4that had been sent has come to the attention [of Nawazish Khan]. It is necessary that whatever arrears shall be calculated
5should be collected. If [Purshottam Das and Paras Ram] have anything to say about any matter,
6write to the said Refuge of Ministry [Kifayat Khan], and act according to [his] response.
7Knowing this to be settled according to that which is written,
8execute it. And do not oppose what has been ordered.
9Written on the 7th of the month of Shaban in the year 1069 Hijri. Nothing further.
