Order of Nawazish Khan to Purshottam Das regarding the grant of a house

Nawazish Khan orders that landlord (chaudhri) Purshottam Das should have possession of a mansion (haveli). After tearing down the mansion, he should send the wood from it to the Lord.

1زبدة الاقران پرسوتم چودری پرگنه دهار بعنایت و مهربانی امیدوار
2بوده بداند که درینولا بعرض رسید که حویلی که در ان بولاقیچند می بود
3متعلقه او است لهذا از روی عنایت حویلی مذکور باو مرحمت فرمودیم
4 باید که حویلی مزبور مسمار نموده چوب انچه باشد بحضور برساند و
5بدستور سابق انجا را متصرف شود و بدولتخواهی و کفایت
6سرکار مقید و سرگرم باشد درین باب نهایت
7تاکید دانسته از [فرموده] تخلف نورزد تحریر فی التاریخ ۲۶ دی حجه سنه ۱۰۷۰ فقط فقط


1Eminent among Contemporaries Purshottam [Das] chaudhri of pargana Dhar , being hopeful of favour and kindness,
2know that at this time it was petitioned that the haveli in which Bulaqi Chand was [living],
3belongs to him [i.e., Purshottam Das ]. Therefore, by way of assistance, we ordered the aforesaid haveli [to be] presented to him.
4It is necessary that the aforesaid haveli is torn down [and] however much wood there shall be, is sent to the Lord. And
5according to past custom that place shall be taken into his possession and he shall be engaged and
6occupied with loyalty towards and prosperity of the government. In this matter
7knowing it firmly settled, do not neglect to do what is ordered. Written on the date 26 Zi al-hijja year 1070 . Nothing further. Nothing further.
