Order of Muhibb Ali to Nathmal granting land to plant a garden and build a resthouse for travelers

Five bighas, or a little over three acres, of tax-exempt land are allocated from the village Maliwada in district (pargana) Dhar to Nathmal, son of the landlord (chaudhri) Purshottam Das, to plant a garden and build a resthouse for travelers.

3 به نتهمل پسر چودهری پرسوتم داس بتصدق فرق مبارک بندگان حضرت سلیمن منزلت
4مقرر نموده شد که بخاطر جمع احداث باغ نماید که هچکس از محصول وغیره آراضی
5مسطور مشار الیه مزاحم نشوند و حاصلات آنرا بتصرف او واگذارند که بدعاگوی
6دوام دولت ابد پیوند اشتغال نماید تحریر فی التاریخ


1Important officials of the present and future of pargana Dhar, sarkar Mandu, know that five bighas of fallow land,
2[which is] exempt from taxes, is allocated for the construction of a garden, according to the [details] on the reverse, from the village Maliwada in the administration of the said pargana
3to Nathmal, son of Purshottam Das chaudhri, as charity by the servants of the blessed head [the ruler], who is like Lord Suleiman1 ;
4so that with settled mind he constructs the garden such that nobody
5will disturb the said land of the said person [Nathmal] because of taxes etc. And the yield from that land should be given over to him so that
6he can engage himself in praying that the longevity of the sovereignty be infinite. Written on the date 2
