Declaration of Sultan Khan and his sister Haiyat Bibi about the sale of a plot of land for ten rupees

Sultan Khan and his sister Haiyat Bibi, residents of the town (qasba) of Dhar, declare that they have sold an uninhabited plot of land to Thakur Pratap Chand Ji, grandson of the landlord (chaudhri), for ten rupees.

12واقع و مبلغمذکور از مشتریان مسطور تمام و کمال وصول یافته
13در قبض و تصرف خود آوردم و مشتری مذکور را مالک زمین
14مذبور نمودیم اگر ثانیا الحال بعد من از اولاد متروکه منمقر دعوی نماید
15دروغ و باطل گردد بنابران اینچند کلمه بطریق قباله بدستخط زمینداران
16و گواهی همسایگان نویسانیده داده شد که ثانیا الحال سند باشد

1Declared and wholly and lawfully avowed [by] the declarant with the self-same name and lineage: Sultan Khan,
2son of Jahan Khan, son of Chhitur Khan Afghan Ghuri, together with Haiyat Bibi,
3sister1 of the aforementioned, resident in Dhar, qasba of pirs, in the sarkar Mandu attached
4to the suba Malwa. That one plot of land, which is unused and without any habitation and adjoining the haveli of
5Thakur Sahib,2 had come to us by inheritance. That [plot], [we being] in a condition of perfect
6health and sound mind, and there being no rightful and proprietary claim to it,
7[shall be transferred] into the hands of Thakur Pratap Chand Ji and Kunwar Ji, sons of Thakur
8Nihal Chand Ji, son of Thakur Hamir Chand Ji, chaudhri of pargana Dhar, in exchange for the amount of
9ten rupees at the current rate, of which half is confirmed to be five rupees,
10and lawfully sold. The sale, perfectly and legally and permissibly,
11is unconditional and irrevocable, and the price was exchanged between the two of us.
12the aforementioned amount from the aforementioned buyers is fully and totally collected,
13and taken into our own possession and custody. And we declared the aforementioned buyers
14to be the owners of the aforementioned land. If henceforth our heirs should make a claim,
15it would be a falsehood and a lie. Accordingly, these words in the form of a qabala with the signatures of the landlords
16and the witnessing of the neighbors have been written such that henceforth it shall be a sanad.
17Written on the date of the 29th of Muharram in the Hijri year 1219.
