Charles II Petition |
Notes: | No imprint on the publication so no details of printer, publisher, place or date of publication; London suggested by Wing. Thomason copy dated 'Aug. 20 1660'. The text was re-printed as part of 'A Strange Prophecie' later the same year [see Wing A797A]. Ahivah claims to have had a vision of Charles II's return. Since she was God's 'chosen Messenger', she argues, Charles should grant her her petition by allowing the Saints freedom to practice their religion and by being a 'Protector of these occasions'. |
