George Monck
Notes: No printer or publisher given on the title page. Thomason copy dated 'Septemb.' Includes a 4-page letter from Monck to Charles II dated from 'Edenborough Decem. 30 1659'. Monck offers to help restore Charles to the throne, urges fresh elections to Parliament and suggests that Charles need show mercy to his enemies to secure his position. The same letter is also printed in 1660 alongside a reply from Charles [see Wing A852A]. The rest of the text includes letters from Monck to several other political figures. These were published, probably initially, without the letter to Charles [Wing A865], which here has a separate title page and pagination suggesting it has been added at a later date.
