Verse satire on the regicides each of whom is characterised as a different animal; description of the execution of Charles the 'Lyon'; and a celebration of the return of Charles II, or the 'Lyon young'.
Illustrated with a large woodcut depicting the animals in a pen, each with their titles (Sect. Cat., Col. Fox etc.) printed next to them. The same woodcut is used on 'The Tryal of Traytors' [Wing T2233], except there the animals are given the names of their human equivalents. |
