At midnight there arrived a storm, with rain and winds from the South and South-west with then became westerly and south-westerly. | Transcription: | Sino al di 25 detto trovandosi sopra le formiche di Grosseto a mezza notte poco più o meno nel mediante instante si levò burrasca di mezzo giorno e libecci fortunevole con acqua dal cielo e crescendo detta fortuna e il Mare et il vento ponente e libicco con acqua che fù forzato andar correndo per pigliare il porto di Piombo e non potendo resistere alla burrasca fù necessario per salvare le persone robbe mercanzie e barca allegerire detta barca per risistere e con consiglio de sua marinari risolvò per non perdersi gettar robba allo mare essendosoli rotto per la forza del vento l’antenna del trinchetto la quale con la vela fù forzata tagliarla e perderla essendosoli ancora rotto la vela maestra che fù forzato mollare in poppa e correr a secco et il mare sempre andava ingrossando di maniera che l’onde del mare trapassavano la barca da una parte all’altra Item qualmente per poter resistere alla burrasca incomincirono a gittar allo mare It focon l’argano le struzze bareli da acqua un quartarolo di vino, un agumeno di tre cantara un ancora di tre cantara e con tutto questo non si poteva resistere alla fortuna per la forza che faceva la barca e il mare cresceva il vento e l’acqua che fù necessario incomincare a gettare del grano al mare si come gettorno per spatio di due hore et andorno correndo sin al pari di Cala di Forni e paremente non potendo resistere doppo haver restato di gittare fù necessario tornar di nuovo a gettar grano seguitando per spatio di mezz’ora sino che pegliò il porto di Cala di Forni giudicando potra haver gettato da quaranta moggi di grano inc. ò quello si troverà al discarico e che ve ne sia di molto bagnato per la gran forza che ha fatto la barca che si è rotto sotto acqua |
