There was now too much ice for further navigation until the following season. 33 of the 53 crew and officers abandoned during this time (the consolato adds the exact number). It was not until May that the ice began to melt and the ship was able to move again. Thanks to the force of the ice and current, the ship scraped itself on a shoal and the rudder and other iron fixtures were damaged. The ship was taking on water, and even though the crew were set to bailing out, the influx was so great that the ship returned to port with the consent of the loaders to unload and make repairs. At this point a calcolo was made, detailing all the damage. |

| Transcription: | Essendosi di nuovo allestito per la partenza ridotto la nave atta a proseguire il suo destinato viaggio li sopragiunse il tempo e stagione tanto fresca che la detta nave restò fermata dal diaccio senza poter navigare per il che la nave stava in coninuo pericolo di pedersi con tutto il carico, tanto più che li marinari et uffitiali della nae si fuggirno al numero di 33 per il rigore della stagione et abbandonarono la nave che se non fosse stata la diligenza del detto capitano e delli altri marinari et uffitiali assolutamente la predetta nave e mercantie si sarebbero perso e ne [sacia?] seguito molto maggior danno a detta nave e carico restando impedita e sequestrata dal Diaccio sino alli 21 di Maggio stil novo che si cominciò ad aprire la Riviera e dalla forza del Diaccio e corrente dell’acque la nave scorse senza che si fosse potuto rimediare sopra le secche e nell’istesso tempo si guastò il Timone e con tutti li ferramenti si perse e la nave ricevè grandissimo danno a segno che faceva acqua in gran copia e bisognò mettere le genti ad aggotare ma essendo tanta la quantità dell’acqua che per le falle entrava in anve che per non andare in fondo di consenso della maggior parte dell’interessati nel carico di quella fù necessitato tornare indietro in detto Porto d’Archangelo |
