Voyage description:
General Cargo consisting of Sundry and divers merchandize and Public Mails for India and China from Southampton to Malta, Constantinople, Sinope, Samsoun and Trebizond. They experienced heavy weather in the British Channel before reaching Gibraltar. After leaving Gibraltar as aforesaid, heavy gales of wind from the Southwards & Eastward were encountered with heavy seas, which washed over the Decks. Close to Pantelleria from the excessive laboring of the ves-
sel, the sliding valve of the starboard Engine was found out of order, and they had to heave too, for about two hours
to make such temporary repairs as was practicable, during which heavy seas washed over the Decks.
