Description
The small market town of Brigg in north Lincolnshire did its tercentenary bit in 1920 by holding a “Mayflower bazaar” at the Congregational Church in December 1920. The organisers hoped to raise £100 in aid of the church, though it is not recorded whether this was successful. The church is now a Grade II listed building, though no longer a church. Christmas was a time for many churches to raise much-needed funds through public sales and bazaars. The Mayflower tercentenary year led to many of these bazaars taking on a Mayflower theme.
