A storm with winds from the north east. The ship took in the sails so as not to be dragged onto the land and was forced to go where the storm took it. With the weather worsening the required consultation was made and they made a jettison of a very large quantity of grain. The captain, seeing that the crew had given up and thought that at any moment they were about to capsize was about to cut the masts of the ship, but waited, seeing that the weather was abating somewhat. The storm lasted for another two days. |

| Transcription: | Sin alli 21 detto che giuntò fra Ancona e Cavo [Futilli] appresso nottorno li sopra giunto di venti noort ost con mare cosi grosso e fortunevole che l’onde trapassavano la nave da una parte all’altra con evidente periculo di metterla in fondo e con tanto [?] che cominciò a far acqua in gran copia e convenne metter le genti ad agottare e per non investire in terra ammainare le vele e scorrer a secco dove dalla fortuna era condotta e tuttavia crescendo detta fortune et in conseguenza il periculo di andare a traverso Visto non havere altro scampo fatta debita consulta con li sua marinari risolverno alleggerire il vascello e cosi cominciorno a gittare e gittorno grandissima quantita di grano e visto che ciò non bastava e che più non potevano tollerare la fortuna per vedere di salvemento il vascello e più parte di mercanzia che fusse stato possibile Visto il capitano che le genti si abbandonavano pensando ad ogni momento andare a traverso già che tal fortuna non cessava punto fece pensiero di far tagliare tutti gl’alberi del vassello e lasciare andare ogni cosa allo are il che poi non effituò perche vedendo che il vento cominciava un poco a cessare con il mare et il vascello reggire un poco meglio la fortuna che cosi crudele durò per spatio di due giorni non quali sempre convenne gittare e navigando con detta fortuna al meglio che era possibile sempre agottando e con l’acqua veniva fuori gran quantità di grano |
