The ship set out from Texel laden large with rye, grain, beans, and other merchandise. A strong current drove the ship onto the shoals and because the weather was rough this created a breach. 12 local 'experts' came to help him in boats, advising him to cut two ropes attached to the anchor, which he then did. They continued on their journey, and were continually forced to bail out the ship which was taking on water. Off Corsica there was a storm with winds from the west and south west and two days later a storm with winds from the south east, and the crew were constantly bailing out. When the ship made it to Genoa they made a consolato.
