The ship left Texel heading for the Mediterranean. In the Spanish sea near the straights there was a storm but it did not leave any lasting damage. The ship was then captured by a group of French corsairs and was taken to Toulon where the cargo was removed. The captain then went to Paris to petition this unjust seizure, and several months later the ship was released by royal decree.
