The Santa Maria, a vessel with a Genoese captain and crew carrying grain and other food stuffs travelling from Brindisi to Napoli on behalf of some Flemish merchants. The ship made several stops along the way to shelter from bad weather. In the gulf of Salerno there was a storm and the ship made a jettison. It then, on the second attempt, made it into Trapani, where it made a consolato. The captain also sold a portion of the soap onboard in order that he might make some repairs. The ship then set out for Napoli but thanks to bad weather was forced to arrive at Livorno instead.
