This paper discusses the overall state of insurgency within Iraq during early 2005, however, it is heavily focus upon the threat of the Sunni-led insurgency within Iraq. This source is particularly useful in understanding how the threat of insurgency led by some of the Sunni population of Iraq was balanced throughout the invasion.

Whilst the threat that insurgency poses is discussed, there is also significant discussion of how political inclusion could encourage its reduction, this demonstrates the coalition’s desire to mitigate the threat of insurgency through non-military means.
